Overview

Over the past year(2024-2025), I worked closely with the creative director at Shriya Som as an Fashion Designer, contributing directly to the development of multiple collections before beginning my Master’s.

I developed and designed three major collections, including two original print collection where every print was created from scratch alongside the garment silhouettes themselves. I also contributed to the Autumn/Winter 2025 collection which is a contemporary couture collection. Most recently, I worked on the Spring/Summer 2026 collection, which is set to release in June, handling print development, colour refinements, production coordination, and final execution.

Problem

One of the key collections I worked on was Anthea (Spring/Summer 2025), a print-focused collection where i combined fashion, graphic, and surface design thinking to create prints that carried emotion, movement, and visual depth. I explored hand-drawn elements, digital layering, and painterly compositions to build a strong visual language across the collections.

I developed original prints from scratch, designed silhouettes, refined colourways, prepared artworks for production, and coordinated with printers to ensure the collection translated seamlessly from concept to garment. The collection featured contemporary resort and occasion wear pieces ranging between approximately £200–£900.

The success and positive response to Anthea reinforced the importance of strong print storytelling within the brand. The collection became a key direction for future development, leading to the decision to continue exploring print-led narratives for upcoming collections, including Spring/Summer 2026.
