Overview
The Brief & Inspiration: Developed an interpretive design based on Saudi Arabia’s NEOM project, specifically focusing on Trojena, the futuristic outdoor ski resort.
Design Concept: Explored the theme of "Subtle Futurism" intertwined with the dominant, pervasive nature of synthetic AI. The maximalist silhouette serves as a visual metaphor for AI’s contagious, global expansion.
Prestigious Selection: The final garment was selected from a highly competitive pool to represent Pearl Academy at Lakme Fashion Week x FDCI in the celebrated "First Cut" showcase.
Organic Architecture to Silhouette: Translated the fluid, sweeping architectural curves and topography lines of the Trojena landscape directly into the garment's structural paneling and seams.
Advanced Patternmaking: Utilized Transformational Reconstruction (TR) cutting methods to manipulate fabric blocks, achieving an avant-garde, structural silhouette that bridges wearable garment and art.
Texture & Dimension: Engineered custom quilted panels to mimic futuristic protective gear and geometric terrain, adding tactile depth, volume, and rigidity to the maximalist form.
Fabrication & Details: Curated a specialized material palette featuring high-structure fabrics, structured collars, hidden zippers, and a striking reverse box pleat to maintain a balance between architectural form and runway functionality.
Runway Execution: Successfully brought the concept from flat mood boards and muslins to a fully realized, high-fashion garment that stood out on a major national platform.
